The Institute of Acoustics is the professional body for those working in the field of acoustics, sound and noise management. Its members comprise consultants, regulators, academics and researchers in acoustic-related fields. Our activities include working for architects, planners, the manufacturing, commercial, construction, transport and entertainment industry, and central and local government and also in the fields of medical and underwater acoustics. The Association of Noise Consultants is a trade association for acoustic, noise & vibration consultancy practices in the UK. The ANC seeks to raise the standards of acoustic consultancy and improve recognition of the vital role which good acoustics, and the management and mitigation of noise and vibration play in achieving good design and effective planning in the built and natural environment. The UK Acoustics Network brings together the internationally leading UK acoustics research community to promote acoustics in the UK both nationally and internationally and to provide a coherent single point of access to acoustics research for industry and governmental agencies.
